A Historic Inn, Reimagined for a New Generation

About the Inn
The building now home to Sawyer House has welcomed travelers for over 130 years under its former name, The Easton House–a beloved fixture in the heart of Nantucket, MA's Historic District. Built in the mid-1800s and tucked along a quiet cobblestone street, the inn holds decades of island stories within its walls, from whaling captains and artists to summer vacationers and generations of local families.

Rooted in tradition. Renewed with intention.
Today, the property enters a new chapter. While its architectural bones and 19th-century details remain intact, every room has been completely refreshed with brand-new furniture, bedding, and modern amenities. All rooms include their own private bathroom, and the inn offers a variety of layouts to accommodate solo travelers, couples, and families alike.
What sets us apart is simple: historic charm meets thoughtful comfort, in an unbeatable walkable location–just steps from the ferry, shops, restaurants, and beaches.
